The Pickle Factory invites Eklo, one of modern minimal’s most exciting labels, for a showcase on 22nd July, with deeper-than-deep digger Etienne, Le Loup and label owner Seuil.
Eklo is the label of Parisian house head Seuil, part of a loose, continent-wide collective of likeminded DJs, producer and label owners that draws inspiration from Berlin’s Club Der Visionaere, and the legendary DJing skills of Perlon boss Zip. Since 2007, his Eklo imprint has released 40 EPs from some of France’s best and brightest - dOP, Yakine, Tolga Fidan - and international heavyweights alike. Yet it’s not until recently that Eklo has truly found its voice, with a run of releases from the likes of TC80, Robin Ordell and Red Ember’s Justin Zerbst that are some of the finest slabs of 4/4 music in recent times.
On 22nd July, Seuil is joined by close friend and compatriot Le Loup - an important figure in Paris’ clubbing renaissance and one of the city’s finest DJs - and über talented digger & DJ Etienne. To those that know, Etienne is the most singular selector in the business, who draws upon his vast knowledge of music gained while working in a Saarbrücken record shop for every one of his special DJ sets. He’s no slouch as a producer either. Since his vaunted debut for Noir&Son, he’s released a solo EP for our friends Undersound, and most recently remixed Seuil on Eklo.
