Transmissions From A Landlocked Island is the enigmatically titled debut album from Spatial Awareness, which is out on download and limited CD on June 3rd 2016. Spatial Awareness and Hottwerk Records have teamed up with Work Bar and DJ Magazine for an intimate launch party in a dark London basement, which will see Spatial Awareness perform a very special 4 hour set.
Much anticipated, the album builds upon a richly praised body of work (an impressive brace of releases and remixes on labels like Twirl!, Wall of Sound, Zombie Soundsystem, Fetch, Corsair, and more) with his unique acid house-meets-mutant-techno-disco sound gaining momentum with his growing legion of fans. Previous hits "Set The Controls For Detroit" and "Bloodshot Eyes" feature on the album alongside future singles "Odd Geometry", "Ruvok", and "The Healing Dust". Also featured is "The Alvian Perception (9.5 Digits)", an alluring collaboration with friend and colleague SPLINTrd.
Transmissions From A Landlocked Island also delves much deeper into the crevices of Spatial Awareness' psyche, going right to the core of his musical self. Not just an album for dancing, but a cerebral experience as well, the various facets of Spatial Awareness' obsessions reside within; science fiction, analogue sounds, dysfunction, film soundtracks, dystopias, darkness, David Lynch, errors, flaws and fractures all helped to create this album as much as a lifetime devouring rhythms and bleeps and breaks and dub and post punk and krautrock; several disparate points in space and time all colliding within a cultural singularity.
