On June 19, The Bunker once again hosts our longtime collaborators Unsound Festival New York. We have a long history of co-producing events with Unsound Festival since they first came to New York City in 2010.
This daytime backyard event at Trans Pecos will serve as the closing party for this years Unsound Festival New York. We're producing this event with support from Club To Club to present for the first time in NY a showcase dedicated to The Italian New Wave, a format that promotes the new Italian musical creativity, featuring a live set from Ninos Du Brasil, Vaghe Stelle's US debut, Club to Club Soundsystem, and NYC's own Greg Fox.
Unsound will also be taking over Good Room for two nights, collaborating with The Bunker on June 17 and our good friends Sustain Release on June 18, and opening the festival at the Lincoln Center Atrium on June 16. This is part of an ongoing series for 2016 and 1017 called Dislocation, with eleven cities to host mini festivals from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
NINOS DU BRASIL

Ninos Du Brasil is a project whose origins and background have remained shrouded in mystery. Dedicated to a bold and unlikely mixture of noise, batucada, samba and electronic, their sporadic live appearances have already become legendary and mythological.
Be it a punk squat in Belgium or the famous Venice Biennale of Architecture, Ninos Du Brasil, without fail, rally the troops, from every walk of life, and create some of the biggest festival style parties on the dance floor. For those fortunate enough to have witnessed Ninos Du Brasil live, their stories comprise of otherworldly experiences. NDB’s condensed yet intense set is a fervent intermixture of old school techno, stadium spirit choruses, Carnival style parade celebrations unified with the physical intensity of old school hardcore shows.

GREG FOX

Greg Fox is a New York City born-and bred drummer, multidisciplinary artist, and teacher. He has played on and released 49 records since 2008, including his work with Liturgy, ZS, Ben Frost, Colin Stetson, Skeletons, Hieroglyphic Being, Man Forever, and others, as well as with his own solo work and his projects GDFX and Guardian Alien. Fox has toured worldwide with various groups and collaborations, held residencies at The Clocktower NYC and Pioneer Works, and was awarded "Best Drummer in NYC" by the Village Voice in 2011. Currently spending 2016 for the most part at home in NYC, he is working on new collaborations and compositions, teaching individual and group drum lessons, and exploring new territory as a solo artist, using a hybridized electroacoustic drum setup to explore new dimensions through the traditional gestures of the modern drummer and the possibilities inherent in electronic and computer music.

VAGHE STELLE

Vaghe Stelle (pronounced ‘vag-he stel-lay’) is an italian artist, real name Daniele Mana. His mutant electronica falls outside any pre-ordained genre, preferring to let his imagination run free in the dark from the off-world R&B romance to the pneumatic grime and lushly discordant trance sensations. Recently he has joined Nicolas Jaar’s Other People imprint with ‘Abstract Sound + Speed’, a mini-LP which draws a critical line between contemporary digital music practices and the century-old Italian Futurist movement. Also known for his appearances on Gang of Ducks, Astro:Dynamics and Aisha Devi's Danse Noire and for have been selected for the Red Bull Music Academy in 2005 in Seattle he has also recently been involved in a project organized by the British Council and headed-up by Hyperdub boss Kode9 to create ‘A Great Symphony for Torino’ . Alongside his solo work as Vaghe Stelle, Daniele also forms part of the One Circle collaborative project alongside Editions Mego’s Lorenzo Senni and A:RA, with recent releases on the UK label Left_Blank and on Italo-German Gang Of Ducks.
