  • Acclaimed genre-bending Australian band PVT debut in The Pickle Factory for Ovation on 21st June, supported by Shape Worship. Since forming in 1999, three-piece band PVT - short for Pivot In Sydney - have established themselves as one of the Subcontinent’s most vital and daring musical voices. Seamlessly blending live instrumentation with deep and beautiful electronic soundscapes, their releases for the likes of seminal UK label Warp Records point to rock, synth pop and ambient techno, without ever being constrained by these genres. Their upcoming fifth album, due out in Summer on Felte Records, explores digital futurism, and even vocal balladry, combining them into their already broad production milieu. On 21st June, PVT debut tracks from this hotly-anticipated new LP, as well as selections from their enviable back catalogue. They’re joined by South Londoner Ed Gillett, AKA abstract electronica producer Shape Worship. Gillett has been recording delicate, painstakingly-crafted experimental music under his Shape Worship moniker since 2011. His debut releases, for labels Exotic Pylon and Gang of Ducks, weaved dense layers of foggy ambience and rich instrumentation across rough-hewn rhythms; before his debut LP, A City Remembrancer, included nuanced politicised allegory within its dense collage of field recordings and modular sounds. Shape Worship’s live performance combines lush, enveloping ambience with more dancefloor-purposed sounds, breaking down tracks and stitching them back together with live modular synthesis and dubbed-out effects.
