For three days every year, tucked away in a lush green valley amidst the picturesque backdrop of Australia’s Barrington Tops, heritage listed national park is an underground music & arts wonderland. Since December 2009, folks from across Australia and the planet have come together in a bespoke celebration of music, art, friendship, and community. For one hot, sweaty, and absolutely unforgettable summer's weekend we call it our home and celebrate our shared passions at an event which has amassed fame for its vision and dedication. Mix together a healthy dose of imagination, love, music, life, nature, culture, art, community, and friendship with an ever-growing family of several thousand, and you have the heart and soul of everything we at Subsonic do.
Once more in December we invite you to the lush backdrop of New South Wales' Riverwood Down’s Mountain Valley Resort, to our own Middle Earth, where every performer is the hero and each stranger a friend you’ve not yet met. Where every day harkens an encounter of the best kind; the quirky and the kinky, the weird and the wonky, the unorthodox and the excellent all come together under our carefully crafted canopy of culture. Where a solid 72 hours of aural delights are sistered with an immaculate non-stop accompaniment of performances, circus arts, yoga, workshops, drummers, fire dancers, carnivalers and faerie-folk.
Subsonic gathers a myriad of artisans who transcend the mundane. Markets, workshops, healing programs and performances comprise the Subsonic Village. Hathours Hideout and Sideshow Sonic is a place of eclecticism where the weird and wonderful meet and all can participate. Swim in the river, relax in a day-bed or enjoy the heritage listed Australia bush to keep your spirit spritely through an epic 72-hours of non-stop entertainment.
Subsonic’s exponential success over the past 6 years paves the way for our 2016 installation. A collection of international greats and cherished local champions ensures the curation of musical delights from every genre. The connoisseurs and aficionado’s can rest easy while the soon-to-be-initiated rub their hands together with glee. Lovers of techno, house, world, jazz, funk, hip-hop, bass and everything in between are all catered for in a diverse bespoke musical selection.
