  • POOLSIDE Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradise are good friends who are inspired by California, mezcal, dancing, good food, and friends. Filip is a Danish producer now living in LA who plays bass in Ima Robot; Jeffrey throws the infamous Blow Up party in San Francisco and used to be in the hardwave band the Calculators with Luke and Vito from the Rapture. Poolside’s debut single “Do You Believe?” was charted by Todd Terje, Dimitri From Paris, and The Magician, and Dazed & Confused praised the song for its “pop-tinged disco, brimming with optimistic vocals and retro acid synths,” while NME lauded its “supremely casual decadence.” “Take Me Home,” Poolside’s second song to be released, was the first song on Aeroplane’s In Flight Entertainment compilation. Poolside’s debut album Pacific Standard Time was released in 2012. VITO & DRUZZI Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel "Druzzi" Andruzzi, known as the DJ/ production duo, Vito&Druzzi, are no newcomers to dance music. As members of the band The Rapture, both artists were front and center during the rebirth of electronic sounds in popular music. Considered one of the seminal indie bands of the early 2000s, The Rapture are well known for their seamless marrying of early post-punk with elements of disco and house. Vito&Druzzi co-founded the Throne of Blood imprint around 2007, with partner DJ James Friedman. With the Rapture still in full swing, Throne of Blood was born as an independent label project for exploring new sounds. These days team Vito&Druzzi are creating their own sound fit for the club, the air-waves and everything in between. Currently they have several 12” singles on the horizon, the first of which is set for release on Throne of Blood coming out early this year. Their journey both as band mates and now as producers and DJ's has given these artists a unique musical experience to draw from which has come to inform their current house-based, melodic sound identity. Their many past experiences have deeply affected who they are now and who they will become as they embark on the next leg of their creative journey. DOUGLAS SHERMAN Douglas Sherman, of The Loft and Joy, has created a vinyl music event series titled “Adventures In Flight” that serves in part as a conduit for the collective vibration of music to reach the listener’s ear and inspire the dancer’s heart, creating an atmosphere where every record stands on its own and the music plays us. Join us for his next launch as he sets the controls for the heart of the Sun at Good Room. As a musical host, Douglas avoids playing from a set playlist in favor of constructing an aural tapestry that is emotional and transformative while always watching for the heart of the dancer to respond from the dance floor, to create a spontaneous and shared experience. He has gained a deep respect and appreciation for music and the importance of sound, to hear and experience records in the way that the artist intended.
