It’s hard to believe, but this September marks a decade since the last ever PROGRESSION.
Progression launched in Dundee 1997, deep in the hiatus of the Progressive House scene. In 2000, Progression launched in Edinburgh at the legendary WILKIE HOUSE with our hero acts at the time, such as QUIVVER, PARKS & WILSON & ANTHONY PAPPA and the likes. Following the infamous police bust of Wilkie House (when techno hero BILLY NASTY got hand cuffed to the decks), Progression soon later began a 7-year residency at the THE LIQUID ROOM, pretty much steering it to become the key venue to catch the biggest and best electronic music acts in the capital.
From our initial parties at Wilkie House to regular party’s at Cabaret Voltaire, The Vaults, The Venue & the Honeycomb to the extravagant events down at The Ocean Terminal, Progression and our infamous after party’s was the go to night for many of the most discerning clubbers for a long time in the capital. But what Progression really was known for was the 7-year residency at The Liquid Room where friendships were made and solidified over a true passion for the music of the time.
To celebrate what would be a ten-year hiatus since we threw the towel in and namely the legendary 'last ever progression party' at The Liquidroom in September 2006 with Steve Angello, we are throwing one more party on Saturday September 3rd at our spiritual home, The Liquidroom.
The original resident cast of Alan Dobson, Derek Martin & Gav Grant shall be dusting down the vinyls to provide a soundscape this historical night deserves, digging deep to take you all on a trip down memory lane.
To headline our reunion, we will be joined by the ultimate Progression guest of all time, our true favorite, our friend & hero, the one and only, Mr DANNY HOWELLS.
