  • THE REVENGE Scottish producer Graeme Clark aka The Revenge has a gift for crafting forward- thinking and inspiring cuts which continues to be at the forefront of his musical attributes, although his work pays fitting tribute to the past. After fifteen years of curating and cultivating quality music, 2015 was a momentous year with the release of his long-awaited debut album ‘Love That Will Not Die’ on his imprint Roar Groove. The full format truly allowed Clark to showcase every side of his sonic psyche, rewarding the listener with an epic journey through a mix of styles and ambience. From a heavy nod to the youthful days of electronic music, to the exploration of varying drum patterns and heavy percussion with a modern house feeling, this LP provides the sound The Revenge is traditionally famed for while still displaying innovative, progressive style and composition. The album went on to be a huge hit in the underground scene collecting impressive accolades along the way including DJ Mag’s ‘Album of the Year’, a fitting and earned appreciation of an album that truly reflects Clark’s undoubted talent. Of course, his advanced skill set doesn’t stop there. Variety is the spice of life, and from tracks that defined the nu-disco movement at the end of last decade (his collaboration with Craig Smith’s ‘The Soul Part II’ in 2009) to EPs such as ‘Body Fusion’ and ‘Incredible Shellsuit’ on his newest successful imprint ‘Roar Groove’, Clark’s prolific career has seen him release on an abundance of illustrious labels. These include DFA, Pokerflat, Dirt Crew, Needwant and his former imprint the much admired Instruments Of Rapture, making him a sine qua non in any aficionado’s record collection. He’s also known for his seamless collaborations, with ‘Love That Will Die’ including an inspired pairing with ‘70s disco icons Sister Sledge. Though surprising at first, this makes perfect sense, as both outfits have a similar musical ethos – making tracks that remain timeless thanks to the emotion rooted within them. Also featured on the LP is Jesse Rennix. Having worked together on previous releases, Rennix’ vocals and the Revenge’s signature style come together in a hypnotic yet powerful cut. In addition to this, 2016 has seen him release a special two-part EP ‘Intimate Connection’. This is comprised of an array of new club enthused tracks and live dubs, for fans who want to re-live the spectacle of the live show, this exclusive release allows followers to experience the dynamic and creative adjustments made during the artist’s recent performances on tour shining a new perspective on household tracks. He also boasts a strong reputation for deep, dark and twisted killer DJ sets. Whether home, as a firm favourite at Glasgow’s iconic Sub Club, or away. Be it Tresor (Berlin), Space (Ibiza), Lola Club (Shanghai), Panther Room (NYC), he provides charismatic live performances, with a deft skill for reading a room just right and filling a dancefloor. His back catalogue of successes along with his remarkable LP debut of the up-tempo house and disco fusion displays the producer’s skill for cherry picking every key and sample he uses with the precision his listeners anticipate from him. In 2016, The Revenge will welcome his new and most exciting venture to date; in appreciation for the fans and followers that have seen Clark’s rise of unknown to award-winning producer / DJ, a new subscription service, ‘Roar Crew’ will be available on Roar Groove’s website. Subscribers will be treated to exclusive downloadable content, 25% off from physical products, downloads of every digital release and a rare enamel pin badge for the first fortuitous 100 subscribers; all at the modest price of £20 a year. Graeme’s emotion and investment in the project are indisputable with a promise to all the supporters that have been the ‘lifeblood’ of the label. FRANCOIS K.
