Fractal Club Residents Reveal

  • FRACTAL CLUB 1.2 - Residents Reveal Party (£5/£6/£7) For the second edition of Fractal Club, our Residents take control of the Mash House Main Room all night, delving deep into their collections to showcase some of the finest electronic music the capital will be party to this December. The Stirling / Glasgow based Jelly Roll Soul crew are holding fort in the upstairs room, while Gareth Sommerville & Mick Macneil take care of the bar. What's more; all Profits from the party are heading to our friends at The Joshua Nolan Foundation, who save lives daily by providing help to those most at need from mental health counselling. --Hi + Saberhägen-- Hi+Saberhagen are two lads we have known for a while. Although accomplished DJ's in their own right, it has been their forays into music production that has seen them develop into one of the country's hottest duo's goin. Their debut EP was picked up by the much lauded Huntleys + Palmers imprint, and a launch party at Glasgow's infamous SubClub soon followed. The record's whirlwind success lead to an appearance alongside Auntie Flo, David Barbarossa and Andrew amongst others on BoilerRoom.tv Since then, EP's on Anthony Naples Proibito Rec's and a new bomb on London based Yume records in fresh to drop. With their records being played from the likes of Ben UFO, Erol Alkan, Roman Flugel, Joy Orbison & Moscoman - these lads have a bright future - and will 100% have some fire in their records bags to unleash. --E.Wan & Chris G-- Alongside them, we have Ewan Smith & Chris Graham, aka E.Wan & Chris G. Brought up in Edinburgh, now residing in London, these boys have been DJ'ing for almost 13 years, accumulating a wealth of dancefloor knowledge along the way. Before their move to London, Ewan and Chris held residencies at several influential clubs in the City. Their own party, Not so Dirty - pushed a deeper, more minimal sound, when the majority of Edinburgh's clubs at the time were playing a funkier/electro vibe. Their clear talent behind the decks lead to them being poached for a residency at the much loved Stereotype, whilst simultaneously launching SouLoco with fellow party starters Jamie McKenzie and Kirk Douglas. Throughout Souloco's 4 year tenure, DJ's such as Subb-An, Jozif, Djebali, Franck Roger and Jay Shepheard made their Edinburgh debuts. A move to London for Ewan followed in 2010, taking up an internship at Resident Advisor magazine. With Chris following in the summer of 2012, their musical education really kicked up a notch. Influenced heavily by many a morning in fabric, and the thriving afterparty scene at Public Life and Lo*kee amongst others, Ewan and Chris drew inspiration from DJ's such as Ricardo Villalobos, Craig Richards, Prosumer, Steffi, Nick Höppner and Gerd Janson to develop their own sound. Whether it's House or Techno, their sets always incorporate an element of funk and a steady groove. Quickly establishing themselves amongst some of London's best up and coming DJ's, gigs at iconic venues such the The Egg, Basing House, and Village Underground followed, before Ewan was offered the chance to open up the RA stage at Eastern Electrics before Harri & Domenic, Joy Orbison and Scuba. Other warm up slots for the likes of Martin Buttrich, tINI, and Dyed Soundorom soon followed. July 2013 seen Ewan and Chris launch their own party, Untitled. Initially at Bar-A-Bar in Dalston, before moving on to The Horse & Groom in Shoreditch, the lads have welcomed SoundStream, Iron Curtis, Tommy Vicari Jnr, and Eddie Richards, alongside some of London's hottest up and coming talent from parties such as Undersound, Fuse, Open, Spilt Milk, and Make Me/Darkroom. This led to the lads being offered a monthly slot on Leeds based KMAH radio. Allowing them full artistic freedom, the Untitled boys, alongside close friend Thomas Aky, have featured some of their favourite labels, such as Running Back, Smallville, and Dial Records. Having had a close up look at these boys record collections many times, coupled with some of their own personal productions in the pipeline - trust us - they will get you grooving. --Jelly Roll Soul-- Inspired by the sounds rolling out of Detroit and Chicago, the Jelly Roll Soul crew have been responsible for bringing the likes of Theo Parrish, Scott Grooves, Marcellus Pittmann, Funkineven and Kyle Hall plus many many others to Stirling and Glasgow since their formation back in 2010. We are very excited to see what these guys have in their record bags, and of course, welcoming them to Edinburgh for a good old knee's up. Expect some of the finest House, Techno, Disco and obscure cuts across 3 rooms, all in the name of charity! Let's do this!
