Three of house and techno’s most in-demand talents join Oval Space on 21st October: Hessle Audio founder Pearson Sound, L.I.E.S boss Ron Morelli, and Future Times head honchos Beautiful Swimmers.
Together with Ben UFO and Pangaea, London native David Kennedy aka Pearson Sound founded Hessle Audio in 2007. Now, the label is the UK's pre-eminent foundry of raw, off-kilter techno, and Pearson Sound, one of our Fair Isle’s most respected DJs. He’s no slouch as a producer either. Previously producing under the monikers Ramadanman and Maurice Donovan, Kennedy was a key part of the nascent UK bass movement. Now, following a series of records for Night Slugs, Nonplus Records and of course his own Hessle Audio - including XLB EP, one of 2016’s biggest underground hits - Pearson Sound has become Hessle’s de facto producer-in-residence, responsible for many of the label’s most essential releases.
He's joined by modern American house & techno savants Ron Morelli and Beautiful Swimmers. Having exploded onto the scene in 2010 - and crowned Resident Advisor’s label of the year only 24 months later - today Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. is New York's pre-eminent electronic label, responsible for modern classics from the likes of Legowelt, Delroy Edwards and Terekke. Beautiful Swimmers - otherwise known as Washington natives Andrew Field-Pickering and Ari Goldman - are the men behind that other great modern US label, Future Times. Specialising in a retro-futuristic house sound that dips its toes into weirdo disco and Golden Age funk, the Swimmers are rightly regarded as two of the most interesting selectors in dance music - the perfect duo to warm the floor on 21st October.
