Figure founder, Ostgut Ton resident, Berlin techno icon: Len Faki returns to Oval Space on 12th November, joined by nu-skool Berghain favourite Anthony Parasole, and hotly-tipped Figure affiliate Cleric.
Berlin-based DJ, producer and label founder Len Faki’s contributions to modern dance music are considerable. A Berghain resident since the very beginning in 2004, Faki has held down one of the most coveted residencies in the world for over a decade. As the founder and curator-in-chief of legendary techno imprint Figure, his work has been prolific, launching the label in 2003, then offshoots Podium in 2006 and Figure SPC in 2009. As a DJ, he has toured the world, showcasing his prowess behind the decks and ability to deliver heady, uncompromising, clinically executed sets as he goes. Having tore the roof off Oval Space with a Figure showcase last Halloween, prepare for darkness once more on 12th November when Faki returns for another brutal, brilliant techno session.
He’s joined by nu-skool Ostgut Ton mainstay Anthony Parasole. The New Yorker specialises in raw, no-nonsense electronics, steeped in the American techno tradition, but pushing towards something new and vital. Together with old friend Levon Vincent, Parasole started Deconstruct Music in 2008, and then a few years later his own label, The Corner. Anthony recently joined the Ostgut family, which, together with a series of electric gigs in Berghain, has seen him reach new levels of respect in Europe over the past few years. UK techno upstart Cleric rounds out the bill. Since arriving on the scene with a series of EPs in 2013, the Mancunion has quickly become one of the UK’s most exciting production talents, releasing for labels such as Figure, Arts, and his own Clergy. Ahead of the unveiling of his much-anticipated new collaborative project Works Unit, Cleric debuts at Oval Space on November 12th.
