Red Bull Music Academy Montreal starts off strong on Saturday, September 24th, bringing together some of modern electronic music’s most exciting live acts and DJs for a lineup with plenty to satisfy both the mind and the body. Co-presented with Montreal’s Never Apart, a cultural center that has made their name producing events with the goal of “igniting positive change and unity through culture,” the night will include the serrated styles of White Material’s DJ Richard, New York’s Booma Collective co-founder Solpara and two live techno auteurs: RBMA alumna and hardware enthusiast Xosar and Aurora Halal, founder of New York’s influential Mutual Dreaming parties. Also featured are enigmatic Sandwell District associate Rrose and acid authority/Bunker resident Mike Servito, as well as a Canadian contingent represented by techno mastermind Mathew Jonson, electroacoustic composer Sarah Davachi and /||||\, all playing live. It all comes together at Mile End’s Espace Reunion, setting the stage for what’s to come over the ensuing month at the Academy.
