After a hugely successful Disco night with Dr Packer we turn back to our House influences and its with great delight we welcome one of Londons most respected faces on the scene As I Am.
Growing up in South East London, As I Am began his musical
education at a young age with the guidance of his bass player
father, listening to 80s disco, but mixing cassettes and playing
keyboard at his grandfather’s house. He soon developed an
interest in House and Garage during his school years, rushing
home to listen to local pirate radio stations.
His most popular track so far ‘Saving Grace’ released on
Defected made Best Track on DMC Daytime Buzz Chart at ADE
2014 spending nearly 4 months in the Beatport charts and featured on many compilations like Ministry Of Sound, BBC, Toolroom, Most Rated and SubSoul. Guest mixes on BBC Radio 1 Xtra and Pete Tong's Evolution Radio. Releases and remixes on Defected Records, Azuli, Simma Black, Great Stuff, Get Twisted Records, Whore House, Hed Kandi, Bar Grooves, Ministry Of Sound, Arch44, Colombia/Sony. Support from the likes of MK, Pete Tong, Dennis Ferrer, Danny Howard, Tough Love, Sam Divine, Terrence Parker, EZ and lots more.
So much more can be said about As I Am that he rarely talks about behind the scenes, supporting London's Dance Music by co-founding one of the biggest and longest running House Music Stations. He also founded various club nights since 1998 at the infamous seOne, Koko, Cable, Crucifix Lane, Meantime (now Studio 338) and Boat Parties on the River Thames. Label owner at the age of 17, you can safely say he has put in the groundwork with ambition from a young age.
Currently, this fast-rising producer is gaining recognition and
working with some of the biggest names in the industry.
