Jared Wilson, Dj Wey & Justin Cudmore

  • To our ears, Jared Wilson is one of the best acid house producers and DJs operating in the world today. An established fixture of the Detroit underground music scene in the early 90s, it was his own imprint, 7777 Records, which transformed his career not only as a DJ but as an accomplished producer. 7777 reliably puts out dance floor favorites including “Drug Related Stories,” “Ghettoblaster,” and most recently his “Ghostminers” series and remix pack. Wilson’s international reputation has attracted the attention of notable people in the techno industry, including Skudge, which led to the 2x12’’ hit “A Little Moonlight Dancing.” Through all his work, Wilson shows he’s a master at making the boxes talk for him, combining the traditions of Chicago and Detroit to form his own unique sound. On direct support is DJ Wey, who emerged on the Lover’s Rock label in 2014 and has since been dropping serious heat. This year he appeared on Entro Senestre’s BANK Records NYC with an outstanding debut EP, and then reemerged as DJ Python on Anthony Naples Prohibito imprint. With such underground luminaries championing his sounds, you can see this is a very talented cat with a bright future ahead. We very much look forward to his set after seeing him destroy it earlier this summer. Rounding out this line-up is Justin Cudmore, who burst onto the scene with his first EP on the Honey Soundsystem label. It dropped like a bomb - his productions, which marry snaking acid lines and bouncy grooves to nostalgic samples, have quickly found many fans. After stints in Norway and Chicago, Cudmore is now a fixture across Brooklyn, popping up on dance floors and behind booths, where he has spun records at his Hotmix parties along with Mike Servito and Gunnar Haslam. Through it all, Justin has remained a student of history who recognizes that house and techno still drip with the sweat of its pioneers. A lot of talent on this bill - can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us!
