The Red Bull Music Academy Weekender touches down in the Catalan capital for an extended weekend of avant-garde concerts, sought-after performances and banging club nights as well as afternoon parties. Headlining acts include: the idiosyncratic vocalist, pianist and performer Diamanda Galás, performing her new show Death Will Come And Will Have Your Eyes, house music figurehead and spiritual mainstay Larry Heard, aka Mr. Fingers, doing a live showcase; multifaceted artist and queer icon Mykki Blanco and a large number of alumni and lecturers from 2008’s Academy in Barcelona. These include techno spearhead Moritz von Oswald, versatile Detroit producer Todd Osborn, Parisian beat cosmopolitan Onra, Civil Music’s Débruit and Barça‘s own Cardopusher. You can also expect dynamite sci-fi soul from Jamie Lidell & The Royal Pharaohs alongside kiwi RBMA alum Louis Baker, as well as Moog club’s lively 20th anniversary featuring Studio Barnhus staple and RBMA alum Kornél Kovács and emerging Spanish duo Olde Gods, before the weekender ends in style with an extended afternoon session by sound scientists Floating Points, Call Super and Sau Poler.
