We'll be bringing in additional sound and lighting for this event. Acronym first surfaced in late 2012 on his own imprint, Dimensional Exploration, putting out mind-bending music and working in the sphere of similar peers like Abdulla Rashim. A few months later he published a 12? on Rashim’s newly found label and platform, Northern Electronics. He has now shown himself to be a prolific producer of deep, percussive techno by continuously releasing EP's and remixes. Co-founder of the Brooklyn-based experimental techno party & label No-Tech, Ciarra Black is no stranger to the scene. Originally from New Jersey, she first got into electronic music through friends who were involved in the noise scene in Philly. Ciarra eventually found her way into techno where she would eventually play at clubs Medusa & Inciting HQ, two of Philly's most underground spots at the time. After moving to Brooklyn, she has made quite the name for herself in the local techno scene. Frequenting lineups at popular nightlife spots Bossa Nova Civic Club and Trans Pecos, in addition to having played for promoters such as Long Count Cycle and Alone Together; she is an artist who stands out with a sound that can only be described as her own. Simon Chioini creates a hybrid of new music compositions and genre fusing underground club sounds – acoustic instrumental flourishes and synth waves layered in syncopated rhythms and unexpected distortions. His experiments in minimalist composition tiered in techno beats have honest roots: stemming from classical percussion and a self driven study of pioneering and outlier electronic music of the 90s and 00s followed by a degree in electroacoustic composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. Chioini co-founded and co-organizes independent music label and musician-composer-producer collective Acte with Gabriel Ledoux, Devon Hansen, Philippe Vandal and Kara-Lis Coverdale – Acte recently released a mixtape with Decoder Magazine and is involved in online radio platform n10.as Radio, inspired by Berlin Community Radio and London's NTS. He is also an advisor to the concert society Codes d’acce`s, an organization that promotes emerging artists in new music. Brooklyn resident by way of Chicago, Antenes' eclectic vinyl DJ sets dive into acid-laced techno, shimmering electro, shadowy atmospheres and beyond, with an ear for odd percussions and syncopations. Her solo production debut, The Track of a Storm EP on L.I.E.S. reveals three tracks of otherworldly techno replete with "lazer shot synthwork" and "ghostly noise layers." She also performs experimental music and installations infused with field recordings, radio static and messages between the wires. Antenes operates out of a laboratory of self-made analog sequencers and synth modules built and manipulated in the name of rhythmic, sonic, and spatial exploration. Inspired by the Buchla 100 modular system and featured in the modular documentary "I Dream of Wires," Antenes' signal path transforms synthesizers into sequences that burst with percussive energy, bouncing sound through sound like so many fuzzy AM radio stations during a late night drive.
