Jennifer Cardini is the woman behind the superlative Correspondant imprint. She first cut her chops at Paris' Rex Club before taking her talents to Cologne where Correspondant first took form. In the years since, Cardini has cemented her place as a tastemaker in the global underground scene. High-kick revivalist Chris Nitti brings both his martial and DJ arts to bear with an extended set to start.
Silence In Metropolis takes over the Bar with label heads and DC DJ veterans Funkdamentalist and Sam Kosh providing the sounds. Flash residents Edo and Navbox keep it light on the roof.

After more than a decade spent building an enviable reputation for herself in the clubs of Paris, Jennifer Cardini has become an international concern. Her infectious charisma and versatility behind the decks has led to invitations to play at such famed nightspots as Panorama Bar, Nitsa, and Fabric, and with her creative platform and label Correspondant very much on the ascent, her standing as a tastemaker is as prominent as ever.
With teenage years spent savouring the lo-fi box jams of late ‘70s new wave, it was actually the immersive grooves and smooth, stripped-back drum patterns of another emerging genre–minimal with which she first made a name for herself, perfecting a downtempo, cinematic mixing style that has become Cardini’s calling card. If her exquisite sets as a resident for Rex Club showed her honing in on a notably sophisticated approach, it was her weekday slot at avant-garde spot Le Pulp that brought her ability to ignite any
party to the fore, presenting experimental techno, narcotic acid cuts, and saturated nu-disco with an energy that has made her an icon in electronic music culture.
A move from Paris to Cologne would only enhance her international standing after a mutual respect between herself and iconic local label Kompakt blossomed, spawning the now-seminal mix CD ‘Feeling Strange’ that still stands, alongside many others from her catalogue, as a testament to her ability to source on-the-pulse sounds. This also extends beyond traditional dance music formats, annually stitching together idiosyncratic finds for shows during Paris fashion week.
Not only an active DJ, Cardini also thrives in the studio with an undefined, heavily emotive sound that's seen release on standout imprints such as Kill The DJ, Crosstown Rebels, and her own
Correspondant. Founded in 2011, the label serves as a platform for music from a core of like-minded artists such as Agents Of Time, Man Power, and Andre Bratten, as well as her recent recording partnership with David Shaw under the Cardini&Shaw guise. The success and cohesive aesthetic of the imprint thus far has led to unforgettable label nights all over Europe.
