For our inaugural event we would like to present you with someone we've been wanting to bring to Montreal for quite some time, New York native A.Arias (Amaury Arias) who got off to a quick start behind the decks and hasn’t looked back since. At 20 he had formed his first event and DJ crew with JM de Frias of Sequencias label dubbed Algo-Rhythm which went on to produce early New York appearances from Hieroglyphic Being, JTC, Chez Damier, DJ Sotofett, Aaron ‘FIT’ Siegel, and others.
His efforts earned him a position at Brooklyn’s famed record store Halcyon the Shop for several years. He is currently known as the driving force behind the Thule Musik revival label Strobelight Network, which has rescued their trove of Icelandic house and techno from obscurity to critical acclaim in 2014.
Arias’ relentless digging for lost gems of 90s, early 2000s and contemporary ambient/ house/ techno has led to his being booked personally by the likes of Mike Huckaby for his house sets, as well as by Terrence Dixon for his deep techno sets, while also maintaining a constant presence gracing the decks at the top clubs in his hometown of NYC, including Output, Cielo, Bossa Nova Civic Club, as well as many more underground warehouse parties. Preferring extended sets gathering house, techno, dub and ambient elements from various eras and places, and weaving them into a signature coherence.
His versatility in DJ booth has earned the selector sets alongside Ben Klock, DVS1, Joey Anderson, Steffi, Silent Servant, Patrice Scott, label mates Exos & Thor and dozens more figures of the worldwide underground.
For the opening set we have Montreal's very own Vadim Yershov we're very excited to also have him on board, we look forward to making it a night/ morning to remember.
