OTIS return to Freda’s for another Sweet Echoes and once again, they’re not messing about. This one marks the Sydney leg of Cale Sexton’s “East Link EP Launch” tour.

Drip feeding his music in to the world one infectious, trance-inducing dub-nugget at a time via Soundcloud and V/A releases for Melbourne’s, Butter Sessions. Cale has been bubbling under the proverbial surface of the Melbourne dance music pond for a little while now. My how things change in a year, after showcasing his talent with an amazing debut EP for Temporal Sound at the beginning of 2016, Cale is back with his strongest creative statement yet, the Eastlink EP for Butter Sessions. On Eastlink, Cale sounds self assured, blissfully in sync with his machines and beyond ready to take on the club in a live setting. Come and witness him do so for this very special edition of Sweet Echoes.
Cop Envy
Sydney’s answer to the lack of late night venues in the wake of the lockout laws comes in local lad, Thomas McAlister’s recent EP for UK taste makers, Opal Tapes. A percussive excursion through 3am mind melters, Thom has proven time and time again he’s the most valuable “contemporary music” tutor this city could ask for and that a “late night venue” could be a seat on the 352 at midday with a pair of headphones and some Cop Envy demos on the smartphone. Closing the night in a style all his own, be sure to stick around and see where he takes us.
Marco Vella - Live
As has become tradition, we’ll be opening the evening at a slower pace, warming hearts and minds before thighs. Who better to do this than Sydney’s Marco Vella. His debut EP for Berlin label Average Negative was painted from a beautifully rich palette of sonic textures and pleasant melodies. Marco has been patiently crafting some new pieces and preparing them for live performance, we encourage you to come down early and enjoy a drink amidst the dreamy world Marco creates.
