The Beck’s Berlin Sessions are a program of music events showcasing Germany’s cutting edge electronic music culture. Featuring a combination of established and emerging artists together with local DJs connected to this scene, the series aims to reflect what a great night out in Berlin is all about – music and experiences that challenge, entertain and inspire us.
JUSTUS KÖHNCKE (KOMPAKT) - A producer, singer and DJ at the top of his game, Justus Köhncke has come a long way in the last 10 years. Having released multiple solo artist albums as well as #1 hit vinyl singles such as 'Timecode' and '2 After 909' on the deeply respected Kompakt powerhouse, Justus’ sound has been hailed as “sci-fi techno disco” by the international press, and he'll be bringing it to you LIVE during his first visit to Australia.
STIMMING (DIYNAMIC) - It's hard to think of a producer more hotly tipped at the moment than Martin Stimming. Releasing alongside brothers in arms Solomun and HOSH on the so-hot-right-now Diynamic imprint, Stimming crafts cinematic dancefloor epics that tug ever-so-carefully at the heartstrings and turn the concept of 'minimal house' on its head. Having won the respect of the international DJ elite in 08, 2009 looks to be Stimming's year with a stellar reception to his brand new debut album ‘Reflections’. Stimming will also play a LIVE set.
MARCUS WORGULL (INNERVISIONS) - Marcus Worgull is a core member of Germany's omnipotent Innervisions label. Together with Dixon, Ame and Henrik Schwarz they have reignited the German (and international) club scene with their 'deep house renaissance'. In addition to his Innervisions releases Marcus has done remixes for DFA, Permanent Vacation and Sonar Kollektiv. He's a DJs DJ, with impeccable skills and the incredible depth of music knowledge that comes from running his beloved Groove Attack record store in Cologne, one of the finest vinyl emporiums in the world.
