Unsound has cemented its position as a major force in Krakow, helping define the city’s contemporary cultural identity via its annual festival. As previously revealed, Unsound is now taking things one step further, by working with cafe and bar Forum Przestrzenie to start a year-round club called 89 set to shake up the city’s nightlife. Positioned beneath the abandoned Hotel Forum in a former strip club, the club features untouched 80s communist-era decor evokes the atmosphere of a David Lynch movie.
Pre-opening events already took place during Unsound in the shape of legendary (and slightly messy!) daytime after parties. Now it’s time for 89 to officially open.
The opening weekend starts on Friday 4.11 with UK legend of dub music and long-time Unsound friend Kevin Martin aka The Bug playing a 3-hour dub, dancehall and bashment session. Alongside is rising UK underground DJ Tash_LC, known for the African rhythms propelling her sets, and Polish footwork promoter DJ Paide.
