The DMZ bi-monthly club night at The Mass in Brixton has become the central night for the dubstep scene, if not its spiritual centre. The pair are not only responsible for the most important rave of the scene but, alongside Loefah, own the flagship label DMZ. Now on its eleventh release, it has become a figurehead imprint. Mala’s incendiary solo DJ performances have brought the DMZ bass weight meditation around the globe. In 2008 he headlined the BBC Radio 1 showcase at Sonar as well as slots at a host of other festivals and a tour of Japan.
