- Introducing HER - Our first party of 2017! We’re pretty big supporters of all things female at Picnic, and regularly feature our favourite girls on line-ups, sometimes it’s actually only girls – but we’ve never felt the need to really feature that info. We believe in an even playing field – gender non-specific. Howevvver, after our magical 12 hour outing with Powder and a carefully selected group of girls we decided to do something we’ve wanted to do for some time – actually celebrate HER. So here we are, our first party of 2017 and our first party of all female music people with a super cute name and super special guest to tie it all in… LENA WILLIKENS! That one with the spectacles, side fringe and cigarette hanging from her lips – Lena Willikens is a seasoned DJ who has spent six looong years honing her skills as a resident at Düsseldorf’s famed Salon des Amateurs (alongside much loved Picnic regular Jan Schulte). Having released some stellar creations on outsider dance music label Cómeme, Lena has managed to blaze her own trail in a scene that can sometimes seem overcrowded. On top of all this she plays host to her own radio show where she’s allowed to run wild and dig deep into her insanely large record collection! We love her for the consistently unique sound that she brings to everything she does and this Jan she’ll be bringing that sound to a very special warehouse near you! Expect to end up on the darker side of the dance floor with a likely mix of EBM, no wave, industrial techno and maybe none of that because Lena plays what Lena wants and she nails it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
