We’re pleased to share with you our first party of 2017 and a very special BTHC initiative, a handshake with the Canadian Riviera in the form of Vancouver’s own electronic music masters and lid rippers, PENDER STREET STEPPERS!
A cornerstone piece in the vast and interconnected Mood Hut Records puzzle, Pender (Jack J & Liam Butler) have carved an inimitable sound. First gracing our ears through the sublime mixtape "Life in the Zone.” 90 minutes of pure Vancouver which set the glistening and blazed out tone for their future outputs, DJ sets and personalities. Two EP’s followed from DC’s Peoples Potential Unlimited and Mood Hut respectively, lovingly filled with the most resonating tracks from the tape. Closely behind came the all original “The Glass City/Golden Garden,” providing the vibes we grew to love and the freshness they seem to take with each step forward.
This energy is also seen in their impeccable DJ stylings, lending their midas touch to Norway's Trushmix and PLO Man’s show on Berlin Community Radio. Their presence has always kept ears happy on the dance floor too, and they’ll make yours smile when they join us in 2017!
We’re also particularly excited to announce that our home for January 7th will be somewhere that is quite special and has never been used for a party like this before. The cavernous cellar under Fritzenberger, known previously as Casablanca has been criminally under-utilised. Now lovingly renamed The Fritzenbunker yet still remaining relatively untouched from it’s discotheque days, the space couldn’t be more ready to be filled with good friends and the great sounds of PENDER STREET STEPPERS!
Supports from our good friends and some of brissy’s finest Mumbles + Emma Stevenson teamed up with BTHC’s own plebs Deejay Hotline + DJ Tutorial respectively.
