Throughout the many layers of his winding 16+ years in electronic music, Holland native (now Washington DC resident) Martijn Deijkers, aka Martyn, has always stood in a genreless scene of his own.
Though his influences are wide-ranging, Martyn’s music is deeply inspired by the futuristic and melodic aspects of Detroit and Chicago. His rhythmically diverse sound floats across D&B, dubstep and various strains of bass music, just as smoothly as it traverses house and techno, and encompasses abstract ambient soundscapes. Based on musicality and energy in equal parts, Martyn’s layered tracks are a rapt exploration of melancholy, futurism and dancefloor hypnotism.
Martyn has invited out Michael Serafini to join him for the 3024 party. Michael is an essential part of Chicago’s dance music scene. He’s the owner of Gramaphone Records, one of the city’s key vinyl institutions, and a consummate DJ. He started out mixing music video clips in a bar during the halcyon days of MTV before moving onto vinyl.
He scored a job at Gramaphone, where he worked alongside the likes of Derrick Carter, Ralphi Rosario and DJ Sneak. Almost ten years back he took ownership of the shop, which continues to be a must-visit spot for locals and touring DJs alike. These days he juggles the responsibilities of running Gramaphone (and its in-house record label) with his Sunday night Queen party at Smart Bar and his own endeavors as a deejay.

Alpha 606 is part of the famed Detroit techno label Interdimensional Transmissions, who in September released his long awaited full length album, Afro-Cuban Electronics. This album is a love letter to this native country of Cuba and his family and their struggles. It displays a palette of sounds ranging from Miami bass to gritty techno. His previous output has been released on Monotone, Touchin' Bass, Transient Force, and Cultivated Electronics.
