On Friday 10th March we'll be joining forces with one of our favourite club nights - Lucid London, to take over the two main floors of Bussey Building.
Dance for Refuge will be supporting War Child UK and Lucid will be raising funds for The Worldwide Tribe.
War Child UK are striving for a world where children’s lives are no longer torn apart by war. War Child are a specialist charity for children in conflict, delivering high-impact programmes that are rebuilding lives across Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Central African Republic.
They aim to reach children early in the conflict cycle and stay to support them through their recovery, providing education and protection services and also building longer-term livelihood opportunities.
The Worldwide Tribe have been making regular trips and spending lots of time, eating, sleeping and working in the 'Jungle' refugee camp in Calais, as well as in Lesvos, Greece, supporting people as they arrive in Europe on boats.
Their team having been working on various projects on the ground such as supporting existing organisations and long-term volunteers, setting up a volunteer programme in Lesvos, installing WiFi and facilitating a football tournament in the Jungle camp in Calais, funding a fire truck for the Jungle and much much more!
