If you got a ticket, it should now be in your inbox from RA. We are also looking at streaming this via Facebook live so those that missed out can see it at home. The music industry faces many challenges, but none are as widespread and current as the state of mental health. Whether it’s behind the decks or behind the desk, mental health issues affect all areas of the business and have now reached a crisis point. Recent studies into this have resulted in some shocking statistics: 71.1% of all respondents to a Mind survey believed they had suffered from panic attacks and/or high levels of anxiety, and 68.5% reported they had suffered from depression.* Donation page here > https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/percolateandmind In aid of Mind, the Mental Health Charity, Percolate and Oval Space will bring together panellists from across the business to discuss their experiences and encounters, with an aim to identify key issues, reduce stigma and build a roadmap to better mental health support within the industry and beyond. The members from Mind will advise from their perspective, outlining the services they offer and how that could be of assistance. Their further plans for the charity, and their views on strategies within the music industry, could be shaped by some of the discussion. Confirmed for the Mental Health in Music panel are: Ben Pearce (UK techno DJ and producer) Naomi Williams (Artist Management and PR, Totem London) Clare Scivier (Artist Mentor and Life Coach) Emma Mamo (Head of Workplace Wellbeing, Mind) Music journalist, Lauren Martin, will also host the panel. The panel will form an integral part of the week long spotlight on mental health in music, which will culminate with the main club event with a secret line-up on Jan 29th, held at both Oval Space and Pickle Factory, in conjunction with Percolate, Mind and Resident Advisor. The inaugural event last February at Oval Space sold out and rose in excess of £10,000. With the addition of the Pickle Factory this January, we aim to exceed last year’s total. All proceeds have gone and will continue to go directly to Mind. RSVP on RA for free tickets. *Figures taken from Help Musicians UK.
