Manuel Fogliata, Nuel, came to major prominence as co-conspirator on the legendary Aquaplano series of records, released in 2008 and 2009 with Donato Dozzy. These records that emerged out of Hardwax, with little label info, press or publicity heralded in a new era of techno. Pushing past the dominant sounds of Sandwell and Berghain, these records were a total headfuck; slightly slower, slightly ambient, totally hypnotic, twisted and hazy. They set the template for the deep, hypnotic strain of techno, and positioned Italy as the epicentre of a new techno movement. They also fetch a small fortune!
In 2011 Nuel stunned the techno world, and earned a new audience with the release of Trance Mutation. Recorded in a single week, performed, mixed, and mastered by Nuel and played on instruments he just learned, the album has a building introspective intensity and channels a timeless, mystic intelligence.
His DJing is legendary, and has taken him across Europe's biggest floors, to the Labyrinth festival in Japan.
More recently on Further Records, Hyperboreal, an album produced solely with an eccentric Ekdahl Polygamist semi-modular synthesiser, Nuel takes his listeners out even further. How far will he go on this night?

Material Object is an enigma. After having released a series of well received big techno 12" on various labels such as Perc Trax and Droid, he stunned the music world with a number of stellar collaborations with late ambient and psychedelic legend Pete Namlook on Namlook's Fax label. A close friendship developed, as did Material Object's exploration of the ambient form, which eventually led to the creation of label No. Inc, with Uwe Schmidt, aka Atom TM. His total comprehension of the sound and closeness with Namlook saw him chosen to play a memorial set at Japan's hallowed Labyrinth festival.
In techno mode, MO's clobbered dancefloors all over Berlin, South America, Japan, USA, UK and Asia, and has been a regularly destroying dancefloors, either as Material Object, or live as Magnus with Tim Xavier.
Material Object's sound is dark, brooding, steeped in heavy percussion and unhinged psychedelia. His latest release on Svreca's leading label Semantica only further cements his reputation.
