General Ludd was born from a community of musicians in Glasgow, making tracks for underground parties and nightclubs around the world.
McMaster and Marshallsay's pedigree got them noticed ahead of schedule by storied New York label Mister Saturday Night, who released their debut EP in early 2014 and a further two more since then.
General Ludd's releases since have oscillated between rip-roaring, techno-flecked house and more stripped-back drum tracks for imprints such as Doc Daneeka's Ten Thousand Yen, and Rubadub, the in-house label of the legendary Glasgow record shop.
Whichever direction they go in, however, McMaster and Marshallsay's records are always effective enough to see them safely into the bags of DJs around the world, while also being weird and fun enough to make home listening a pleasure too. Upon our specific request, the duo will be bringing their disco collection down to grace our lucky ears...
JONA SUL
Jona Sul is a Brighton-based producer creating pulsing and cerebral electronic music. Previously dubbed by Mixmag as “Four Tet jamming with Maya Jane Coles”, the artist's EP Milkboy, released on Fatboy Slim's South Fried Records, sees him ditch comparisons and sculpt a name for himself. Armed with a splendid knowledge of dance music old and new, JONA SUL is set to bing a wonderful vibe to the decks come the28th.
Jonjo Williams
A regular across Manchester's bar and clubbing scene as well as being one of two in the production duo Simoa Drive, Jonjo's elcectic taste is fashioned towards the grove based side of electronic music. Expect a smooth mix of house, disco, breaks and party jams.
We are set to hit the ground running at our first show in Manchester's newly established basement club Stage and Radio, with experimental visuals, performance art and of course a wide selection of groove based dance music.
