secretsundaze are extremely proud to announce details of our 8th seasons Opening Party. Getting back to what we do best - running open air, daytime parties we are extremely excited about the summer and what we have in store.
The location for the Opening Party is The Terrace at "That" formerly known as The House and Terrace in Greenwich. We instantly knew when seeing The Terrace it was the right place for our Opening Party. Walking through the club one enters a wide and deep, wooden decked terrace. The venue has been hugely accommodating indulging our whims and it now looks super. We can really picture it going off there. The club itself is being used as an extension of the terrace as it has a series of “double doors” opening out onto it. It has also just had a refurbishment with new Nexo sound system (both inside and out) and comfortable seating and chill out areas.
Line up wise, we have as usual got something which we think should be very special. Headlining we have one of the most talked about underground producer /DJs of the last 12 months Brothers' Vibe all the way from NYC. Real name Tony Rodriguez, Brother Tony as he refers to himself has been DJing and producing for the best part of 25 years. It was only when certain famous Chilean DJs started playing his percussive House grooves that people started to take notice of him again. Giles included his track "Step Into It" on secretsundaze Volume 2 and "Feelin House" was also huge with all the right people. We think his music will be perfect for that outdoor, terrace vibe.
Joining him in DJ support is one of our new hot favourites Melon (Ratio? / Amsterdam). Melon is without doubt one of the best new House DJs we see rising through the ranks with props from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and has also been touring with none other than House legend Doc Martin. He hugely impressed at Giles' Basic Needs party at T-Bar late last year and also Fabric and he was a clear favourite as a second guest with his larger than life persona. His releases too have been massive with his old school Chi-Town groove "Music's Got Me Moving" on 2000 and One's new House label Bang Bang being a big feature of Giles and James sets over winter.
Last up we have a very special live set from none other than Move D. Once the preserve and toast of the heads with his uncompromising music David Moufang has seemingly broke through to a new wider audience last year winning many new fans with a sleuth of great releases. He has released on (deep breath) Warp, Source, Compost, City Centre Offices, Modern Love, Liebe, Detail, F Communications, Klang, Four:Twenty, Mule (and thats just a sample) and most recently the most excellent Running Back. His music is deep, atmospheric and with a huge dollop of funk. Anyone that heard his excellent Resident Advisor mix will surely agree. Think Moodyman and Sten / Lawrence put through the blender and you’ll have some idea. Giles and James as ever will be there with their bags of tricks for the summer and eager as ever to share their love of this amazing music we know and love.
Saving the best news for last we will be rockin all the way from 2pm to 4am! So expect the Disco Ball to be in full effect throughout the twilight hours. Look forward to seeing you all.
