New Year Eve's are notorious nautical adventures at the Chinese Laundry, and this year you'll need to strap your goggles on, batten down the hatches and prepare to sink to the deepest depths of electro and party grooves.
We're proud to present our lineup for 2006 Leagues Under the Sea, featuring international DJs Ivan Smagghe (Black Strobe) from France, Damian Lazarus from the UK and local party favourites, Sneaky Sound System .
Ivan Smagghe's name has become synonymous with innovative and intense electronic music, and he's renowned for having a unique talent of dicsovering sounds that no-one else has heard or dared to use before. Ivan has earned a reputation as one of the most respected DJs in France, and he'll be helping our New Year's crowd descend into the dark depths of sleazy electro. Click here for more info on Ivan.
Damian Lazarus will be dragging the crowd even further into deep subterranean waters, with his own fresh take on dirty deep electro. Former head of A&R for London label City Rockers, and now heading up his own Crosstown Rebels label, Damian's leading the charge on the future direction of music. The Rebel sound is designed for lovers of late night madness, future dance floor classics and forward thinking new ideas - he's one not to miss! More info on Damian here.
Sydney's own Sneaky Sound System require no introduction - they're the party massive bringing a whole lot of lovin' to the magically transformed Slip Inn for the evening. Sneaky's hip shakin' sun dripping party grooves will light up the Courtyard, and make the New Year's Eve fireworks and their own sweaty pop-fuelled roller-boogie rhymes seem all the brighter. The Slip Inn will be magically transformed into a maritime playground for the night, with starfish studded grottos, coral reefs, pirate ships, oceanbeds and mythical creatures.
