Industry of Machines: Kondaktor, Vasco Ispirian, SPRKLBB

  • Kondaktor (Modal Analysis | Abstract Reality || Athens) Vasco Ispirian (Made In Green Records || Madrid/NYC) SPRKLBB (High + Tight | The Party by Ostbahnhof NYC || NYC) RSVP to [email protected] for $10 after midnight/free before midnight. We're bringing IofM to a new venue for the first time in awhile, one of our recent favorites in Brooklyn, The Gateway, and for the occasion we're also bringing one of our freshest lineups of emerging (or emerged) talent, depending on your perspective. From Athens, Greece, Kondaktor is head of the Modal Analysis label and involved in the excellent FASMA Festival there, amongst other things.Holding down the late shift is SPRKLBB, the head of H I G H + T I G H T and a resdient of The Party by Ostbahnhof NYC. Vasco Ispirian returns to open the night on the deeper end. One of the architects of the currently-thriving Athenian techno scene, Kondaktor established his international profile early on with an album on Further Records and the launch of his Modal Analysis imprint, an impressively edgy, avant-techno affair that counts releases by Cassegrain, UMWELT, AnD, Yves De Mey, and other leading figures in its catalogue. Also one of the director's of the prestigious FASMA Festival, Kondaktor has appeared once before in NYC for the Bunker around the time of his 2014 Modal Analysis EP. With the label and the festival going strong, things are very busy, but we're very pleased to welcome him back to NYC for a rare DJ appearance on the heels of his new album for Abstract Reality. We're happy to be working with SPRKLBB, a rare all-vinly DJ emerging from New York's gay scene with established residencies at The Party by Ostbahnhof NYC & his own H I G H + T I G H T events, which have recently been branching out with invitations to Turtle Bugg, Acid Camp's Aaron Davis, LSE's R Gamble, & plenty of other locals and non-locals. We mention his wax infatuation because we're fans of hot wax ourselves, and we've admired his record collection in recent sets we've seen. While this is his first time at IofM, we're already quite sure it will not be his last. As we near the launch of his forthcoming Made In Green Records, Vasco Ispirian makes his second DJ appearance for us after a killer live set in January alongside Stefan Goldmann and L'Estasi Dell'Oro.
