It is with dangerous levels of excitement that we announce that April the 13th will play host to a night of live electronics featuring the one and only In Aeternam Vale during his extremely rare visit to Australia. To host an artist of this calibre alongside a string of amazing local and interstate live acts is an incredible privilege and one we will always remember.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which this event will be held, the Ngunnawal People. We pay respects to Elders past and present.
In Aeternam Vale (Clasicos del Ruido, DEMENT3D, Jealous God, Minimal Wave, Ravage, Ritual Process) | Laurent Prot is one of the most celebrated names in the avant garde sphere. His solo project In Aeternam Vale has pushed the boundaries of post-punk, drone, and techno for over 30 years. His innovative sound exceeds genre labels and does not yield to superficial music trends. IAV will be sharing an extended live performance that promises to shatter all of your musical preconceptions.
Half High (Altered States Tapes, Chemical Imbalance, Eiderdown Records) | Half High is the audio-visual project of Lucy Phelan and Matthew P. Hopkins. They “create a slightly damaged form of ambience through meditative synth lines, various electronics, and atmospheric tape manipulation.” Their drones are dense and slow, but delicate pops and whistles create a playful and exciting evolving sound.
Bead (Instruments of Discipline) | The evening will close with a performance from Bead. "Corrode", his recent release under the Berlin label Instruments of Discipline was shaped by rumbling drums, sharp grating noise, and bubbling acid. Bead is developing new sounds in industrial techno, but staying true to its core elements.
Trim B | The evening will open with a performance from local musician Trim B. His hardware-based soundscapes are lush and continuously versatile, featuring vibrant pads and drums inspired by his own cross section of taste.
