At Berlin’s St. Georg, two trailblazers of New York’s progressive hip-hop underground share the bill with German rap’s most in-demand production crew. Originally from New Jersey, Cakes Da Killa has earned a devoted following with his rambunctious style and x-rated lyrics since the release of 2011’s Easy Bake Oven, Vol. 1, while Le1f celebrated his rise from local hero to global shooting star with the release of 2015’s transgressive Riot Boi album on XL. KitschKrieg, the genre-bending collective from Berlin-Kreuzberg, has meanwhile become a creative signpost for rap and soundsystem culture fueled pop made in Germany with their productions for the likes of Trettmann, Haiyti, Joey Bargeld, Megaloh, Beginner and 187 Strassenbande. Additional support on the night will come from RBMA alumna OK Lou, Mobilegirl, as well as Berlin’s Lee Stuart, Ticklish and BassGang.
