  • We are back, and we are incredibly excited to be hosting the Launch Party to one of Ireland's best additions to the festival circuit; Townlands Carnival! Hosting an eclectic mix of performers of all persuasions and disciplines from Ireland and abroad Townlands Carnival hits Cork July 21st. Skirmish will be featuring some of their favourite acts at this years festival on the mighty SubAtomic stage. Showcasing electronic music from Ireland and abroad since 2012, Cork based Skirmish Blog has broadened its scope most recently hosting gigs in London. From it’s inception their focus has been on original sounds from the underground of electronic music and tonight we’ve teamed up to bring you two Irish DJs we can’t recommend enough: P-Hocto & Warren Knowles **P-HOCTO** Dublin born DJ and producer Peadar Ó Brádaigh, AKA PHocto, had been circling the Irish electronic scene for a number of years but is now to be found across the pond in London city. A vinyl fanatic, Peadar separates himself from the masses by playing a killer selection of new and old tracks across the various styles of techno, electro and bass heavy music that most appeal to him. Dark and deep, weird and wonky, glitched out and sublime or simply pounding, one thing is for sure, you won’t find any filler here. A regular DJ at Jerome Hill’s infamous “Don’t” nights, Peadar has supported some big names in the underground Techno and Bass circuits, both at home and abroad. Artists like: Neil Landstrumm, Paul Birken, Ancient Methods, Lakker, King Cannibal and Sunil Sharpe to name but a handful. He recently completed a degree in Sonic Arts at Brunel University and is now busy working away and refocusing on his own productions once again. ***SoundCloud*** https://soundcloud.com/p-hocto **WARREN KNOWLES** Warren is no stranger to anyone who's been wearing the dance floors at techno gigs over the last 10 years. His first club experience like many other Cork dj's was at the legendary Sweat nights in Sir Henry's. His first break came when he got accepted for the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin and got a set at in:flux's famous techno night in the Kitchen Nightclub. Soon after they started a night in the Pav nightclub in Cork, and he was asked to be resident for the duration of their nights in the city where he warmed up for the likes of Umek, Justin Robertson, Darren Emerson and Billy Nasty to name but a few. Involved with setting up the Oil Baron's Ball in the Pav, which had a nomadic existence moving onto Maas, and after that Sir Henry's he then went on to became resident of Cork’s legendary Electric Underground. He’s also been nominated for best resident at the Irish Dance Music Awards twice! With EU he warmed up for acts such as Scuba, Luke Vibert, Blawan and many other great acts. Warren has a hugely diverse taste in music and is a vinyl purist to the core. Expect House, Techno and Electro of the highest quality. https://soundcloud.com/warren-knowles/tracks
