Unsound Dislocation

  • Music does not have any borders, especially geographical. This is why "Dislocation" was chosen as the main theme of Unsound in 2016. It’s also the name of a unique ongoing project in cooperation with the Goethe-Institutes in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, taking place between 2016 and 2018. The idea of Unsound Dislocation is to drive events and activities in various locations around the world, exploring the topic of dislocation and the relationship between the so-called "center" and the "periphery." As part of this project, the festival will be held in Almaty from May 26 to 28. Unsound is an international festival of electronic and experimental music, founded in Krakow in 2003. It is an event where all kinds of art connect: sound, video, theater and new media. Unsound events are also held in London, New York, Adelaide, Toronto, and many other cities. Within the framework of the Almaty festival will be parties, concerts and workshops. All events will be free of charge.
