10 years ago, in June, Nathan Jenkins (Bullion) took apart the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and turned it into a stylistic ode to revered rap producer J Dilla, who had passed away a few months earlier. Pet Sounds: In the Key of Dee was circulated extensively online and received airplay from the likes BBC Radio 1 hosts Gilles Peterson and Benji B.
To celebrate the mixtape turning ten, Bullion has assembled a 10 strong group of musicians to perform an extended version of his mixtape live at London’s iconic Jazz Cafe. Players include Mica Levi and Sampha collaborator, Giles King-Ashong, Raven Bush of the Heliocentrics, Wayne Francis (United Vibrations) leading the brass section and many more talents.
