Village Underground Lisboa is celebrating it’s 3 year anniversary on the 6th of May and the festivities will include 18 hours of music and artistic performances, starting at midday on Saturday in what we hope will be an epic free party for the ages and one to be remembered for years to come.
We can now reveal that our first confirmed musical guests include Oporto’s finest electronica act, :papercutz, whose unique sound was described by The Fader as “Beautiful and unsettling...” and who will be debuting music from their forthcoming album “King Ruiner”. As for the DJ’s we have Expander, Mvria, recent London import Nick Craddock, Rita R’ink and the residents Twofold and Stereo Addiciton with more names to come.
CARGO, the famous market composed solely by new and upcoming projects, which VU Lisbon has successfully partnered with many times, will also be joining the party with 30 stalls offering unique and innovative products all ready to be discovered by anyone who wants to spend the day surrounded by some great music and get some shopping done. There will also be a host of activities for the kids, including the playground and the bouncy castle. The food trucks are a must with a wide range of choice, the cocktail and juice bars, live street art, video installations and a cash for tricks showcase from some of Lisbon’s top skateboarding talent on the Element ramp.
The “A Avó Veio Trabalhar” project which has promoted the work of elderly grandmothers in the S. Paulo street joins forces with Alcântara’s ”Clube das Costureirinhas” for a sewing and knitting workshop in one of our iconic double decker busses.
We don’t want to give too much away because we want our guests to spend a great day and evening in our company with a wide array of surprises still to come.
