Scandinavian duo SHXCXCHCXSH descend on New York for a live set at Gateway. Their intricate style is one of contrasts: noisy yet melodic, abstract yet direct. Their music has been called "radioactive sludge" and has found homes on Avian, Semantica, and Mord, most recently with their LP "SsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSsSs" for Avian. The Ss are silent.
White Material's DJ Richard will play an extended DJ set. His style spans diverse genres. His standout ambient set at Sustain Release this year literally floored the crowd - by its end, people were sitting down, hypnotized. However, he's also the man behind "Benzos" - a slamming dancefloor track from his release "Nailed To The Floor." Expect range.
Following a recent live set at Nothing Changes and a track on Allergy Season's "Physically Sick" compilation, Bergsonist rounds out a night of far-out electronics with a live set of her left-field techno.
Residents Karl Ewald and Witness will play a hybrid live/DJ set.
:: UPDATE :: There will be a chill out zone on the first floor with some of Brooklyn's chillest selectors: DJ Wey, Ciarra Black, Kiddo Sincere, and Peter Fonda will be playing soothing sounds contrasting the madness upstairs. Take a seat and enjoy.
Note: This is going to be in an intimate venue and we will treat it as such. We will not oversell the event, and pre-sale tickets are recommended. There will also be an chill-out zone on the first floor.
