Back in 2007 at a sleek martini lounge in Detroit called (Proof), 2 House Dj's started a night called House Gallery. The idea was to bring a mix of old and new Househeads together every Saturday night. Adam Francesconi and Jay Ramsey booked a guest each week. Whether it be the new guy on the block, an out of towner or a local heavy hitter, great music would be played! It soon became a melting pot of "heads". A lot of walk-ins also quickly became fans of the night and the buzz began. Unfortunately (Proof) had to close its doors in December of 2009.
At this point, together along with their sound man (J.Garcia) who also had a residency at (Proof), the guys began looking for a place to keep things moving forward. They held a couple of shorter residencies around town but quickly linked up with a good friend who had decided to open up a wine bar and the rest is history!
Through the years new friends have been made. Each of the guys have released music of their own. They've played across the pond together and helped spread their love of house over there as well.
Every May, the dance music community unites in Detroit. House Gallery has been closing it out for years now with Motorcity Wine on Memorial Day! Let's face it, we're all worn out by Monday, but this is the last chance of the year to conversate and DANCE with all of our out of town guests!
This year is special for us, so we pulled out all of the stops! Without further ado, here is your line-up:
NICK HOLDER --- Canada
Owner of the legendary DNH Records and highly esteemed producer and Dj from our standpoint. One of the best! We're extremely excited to have Nick on board for this special event! Let's get together and show him some of that Detroit LOVE!
Uchikawa --- Japan
We're bringing this guy back because his set was a fan favorite and his selections fit right in with the vibe of our night! Deep & Soulful
Claus Bachor --- Germany
Great man, great friend and he's been doing this as long as anybody else that we know! His sets can range from classic Disco & old school House classics all the way to the darkest, bangin' techno that you've ever heard!
Derrick Thompson aka Drivetrain --- Detroit
Derrick's label Soiree Records has been a staple in Detroit for over 25 years at this point! Styles range from Deep House to Techno and beyond.
Raybone Jones --- Detroit
Another fan favorite! Raybone ALWAYS brings it! If the crowds not movin' he's on a seek-n-destroy mission to fix that.
DeTune --- Belgium
Never mind his boyish looks, this guy knows his music. He'll weave in and out of soulful Detroit Techno and House without fail. And please, check his production work.
Todd Perrine aka Sandman --- Toledo
Todd has been holding the whole scene in Toledo down for DECADES! Look for Mattimoe-Perrine productions as well. Amazing deep, melodic tracks.
Just Alexander --- Kalamazoo
This guy plays hot shit. There is no differentiating genres and sub genres...just dancefloor heat.
Jen Xerri --- Detroit
This girl has been holding it down in Detroits deep house scene since the mid-90's. She has all of the cuts. When she's on, you'll boogie.
Jeff Arthur aka Dj Taz --- Detroit
Taz has been holding it down with HG the entire time. Impromptu sets with Taz and Los(RIP) are some of our fondest memories getting started at (Proof). Deep, percussive & Soulful.
Vincent Patricola --- Detroit
A founder of Detroit Electronic Quarterly mag and mega hustler on the Dj tip. He plays everything from Funk to Jazz to House to Techno and everything in between.
Scott Ashley --- Detroit
Scott is also holding a (currently 5 year) residency at Motorcity Wine called the Jazz Vinyl Club. This guy knows his stuff. Lend him an ear
