After playing in iconic venues all over the world, now is Perth's chance to experience the feel good 'love everyone' vibe that Earl Jeffers provides.
Earl started his label Melange in 2000 focusing on publishing releases and promoting gigs around London but since 2015 has started sharing the love with the rest of the world.
Melange shows much promise as a label that can be witnessed during his Rinse FM guest mix last month, proof that the label is one to watch out for years to come.
Besides his own outfit, Jeffers has releases on Addison Groove's Lost in Translation, Doc Daneeka's Ten Thousand Yen, the swedish-based Local Talk and Gerd's diverse 4lux label, with standout tracks 'Gloria', 'The Goose' and his edit of Alicia Myers' 'I Want to Thank You' getting plays by the likes of Henry Wu, Skream, Kerri Chandler and many many more.
When asked about the correlative sounds between his Chesus and Earl Jeffers aliases, he answered with the following:
"The more I think about it, they’re not a million miles away from each other. But I will say the Earl stuff is definitely more me.
It’s also more a tip of the hat to my record collection and what I can draw from it or what I’ve put caked up on my days digging.
But other than that, I’ll leave it for people to decipher."
Jeffers' music composition and selection resonates a long-term crate digger's love of sampling soul and funk, breathing new life into selected edits through a raw house sound.
He wants you to be grooving along with him and not stop until he does.
