It's been a huge year for Playtime. Our residents toured Russia, Paris, Japan, San Francisco - and Wrexham! We played at Ministry for Nastydirtysexmusic and the End for Todd Terry and Underwater. We launched a record label and the first track, What Day Is It, hit the top ten of everyone Josh Wink to Steve Bug to Ewan Pearson to Groove Armada to Mylo. We were club of the month in Mixmag, of the week in TNT, DJ said we were "one of clubland's finest inventions" and TimeOut said "anyone who takes it too seriously is clearly missing the point". We bought Abe Duque to London for the first time and had huge sets from DJs you don't get to see at parties our size - from D'Julz to Break3000 of Dirt Crew, Mugwump to Tim Sheridan, Tom Stephan to Soul Mekanik ... and now this month, David Duriez and Tom Neville.
So this is the last chance to jack for 2006. We're not back until Feb 24 next year, when we move to last Friday of every month (so we'll be on nearly every public holiday!)

Face it - you know who he is. The "breakthrough house producer" at last year's house music awards. The man who has remixed Moloko, Khia, Ladytron, New Order, Mylo, Chiniki ... And who wrote "just fuck" - which hit #1 on the American dance charts in addition to being played by every DJ in town in London. Guest mixes on Radio One, a MoS residency, and now his own label, Love Minus Zero, with the first track Never Lose Your Grip getting great reviews. This is the first time Tom has done Playtime. We like the idea a lot.
DAVID DURIEZ (BRIQUE ROUGE / FREAK'N'CHIC)
More than 70 releases, 90+ remixes and five compilations - this may well be the hardest-working producer in the business. And he's carved out his own path - despite being a key player in the French scence for years, he's never done the french filter disco thing and has tracks or remixes on all the best labels - 2020, Ovum, Poker flat, Robsoul, End Records, F Com - even his own remix of "I'll house you" on Defected. This is his second time at Playtime, and the first took off the roof ...
