Via Baltica - Trans-Baltic Rhythm Connection
Via Baltica ris the road running from Prague in the Czech Republic to Helsinki in Finland by way of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. It goes via Prague, Wrocław, Warsaw, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki. If we use this route for travel, why not for music.
While the native populations of Latvia and Lithuania are known as Baltic people, those of Estonia are Finnic people together with the Finns. Similar, yet different, we share a common love for rhythm-driven music, namely disco, house, boogie and electro.
As the Baltic trade began in the late middle ages, and would continue to develop into the modern era, we strongly feel it’s time to create that trade musically too. We ride the boats across the bay frequently anyway.
For the previous event of Via Baltica, we partied in Turku with Still Out bosses Hurmet Ilus and Paap, and for the 2nd event we will ride all night the Peatus train in Tallinn with 2 Helsinki greats.
For guests we’ve invited 2 very special DJs from Helsinki with long careers, Alvar & OW. Alvar is the owner of Helsinki’s new hotspot Valkoinen Sali and OW (Otto-Wille) is his musical partner. Together they host the Starboard show on Bassoradio and DJ at every place possible, where people get down to disco & house, as well as arrange the popular Sumatra events in Helsinki. A duo on top of their career and on top with their knowledge of music.
We will serve the rhythms, the bar & terrace is open all day until very late and the best of all, you don’t need a ticket to ride this train.
