SAFE SPACE RECORDS is a Cologne-based record label working in music production and distribution. We understand ourselves as a platform operating in the spirit of “Scenius” - a term that Brian Eno introduced to highlight the collective nature of genius. It stands for intelligence and the intuition of a whole cultural scene. We want to establish a strong community where individuals are part of an active cultural movement.
Our mission is to innovate pop music, especially in Cologne. What differentiates us from other pop-focused labels is that our roster is all self-producing and recording artists. We see music production as an artistic practice. We aim to push the boundaries of the different genres the artists find themselves in, such as Ethereal Pop, Indie Pop, Alternative Pop, Post-Punk/New Wave, Experimental Pop, Trap, and Hyper Pop. We’ve established a strong community where individuals are part of an active cultural movement, creating a collective space to get feedback and have opportunities to collaborate.
