Participation is an outlet for Jon Hester’s own original music, as well as collaborative efforts with fellow artists who are participants in the culture of techno and house. The collaborative projects are to be realized over a reciprocal exchange of sketches, and the development of two tracks to be released digitally; creating a lean and agile framework to express ideas. Hester’s expansive artistic vocabulary as a DJ and producer facilitates a wide range of sounds being featured on the label. Visually, the concept artwork for each release is a simple one-line drawing from Hester himself — underscoring the directness, honesty, and immediacy of the music presented.
