- The New York producer has two mini-LPs on the way under his new alias.
William Burnett, AKA Willie Burns, will release two mini-LPs under the Black Deer alias over the coming months.
The first, The Last Tortuga, will see release on London label Emotional Response on October 7th. This will be followed by a six-track record for Peak Oil called S/T, due out November 12th. Burnett's Black Deer alias was first spotted earlier this year on Rush Hour's No 'Label' series: according to the producer it's a moniker that allows him to make music that is patriotic to his US homeland.
The two records will arrive amid a busy run of releases for the W.T. Records founder. He's teamed up with Torn Hawk on a couple of 12-inches—one white label for L.I.E.S and an EP (that also features Secret Circuit) for Rush Hour under the name Circuit, Burns & Hawk. He also has a cassette release for Sex Lies Magnetic Tape in the works, as well as a second Willie Burns EP for Will Bankhead's Trilogy Tapes label, though release dates are still TBA.
