The Ed Banger boss has the likes of Carl Craig, Rustie and Lena Willikens joining him during his three-month stint at the East London club.
Ed Banger founder Busy P has announced details of his upcoming residency at London venue XOYO.
Pedro Winter's three-month run begins on Saturday, October 3rd, taking the baton from current residents Bicep. He's calling the residency "20 Years Of Party," a nod to the fact that Winter started out as a promoter in Paris two decades ago. Notable shows include a back-to-back set from Carl Craig and Philippe Zdar (October 3rd), Boys Noize and Éclair Fifi (October 10th), Joakim back-to-back with Trevor Jackson (October 31st), Rustie (November 7th), Lena Willikens (November 21st), Erol Alkan (November 28th) and Basement Jaxx (December 5th). Winter has invited some Ed Banger alumni along too, with Breakbot, Justice and SebastiAn stopping by at various dates.
"It all started in Paris at Folies Pigalle, an old theatre where naked girls used to dance," Winter says. "In the early '90s it became a nightclub where freaks, cool kids and drag queens came to party. I spent my Thursdays, my Fridays and even my Saturdays there. In 1995 I threw my very first party, Hype, at Folies Pigalle. It was house music all night long with DJ Gregory on the wheels of steel. I was running the club every Thursday, inviting DJs from the city to come and play. Most of them, including Dimitri From Paris, Motorbass, Daft Punk, DJ Cam, Bob Sinclar and DJ Deep, became what they call French Touch."
He adds: "Now, 20 years later, XOYO invites me to be their new resident DJ and curate every Saturday until the end of 2015. I want this residency to sound like a musical journey of a young man who discovered electronic music back in the '90s and made his life about it, a young man who's still looking for the perfect beat."
