- The US producer is set to put out a hitherto unheard full-length in August.
John Tejada is set to release Recovered Data 95, a collection of his earliest works under the Lucid Dream pseudonym.
The story behind the material dates back to 1995, when the then-nascent producer Tejada was recording and compiling tracks for a full-length effort through A13 Records. By the time it came to giving the LP a full release, A13 had veered off in a more club-facing direction, and asked Tejada to go back to the drawing board (the outcome of which was the 1997 album Pure Punk). As a result, all of the material from those sessions (baring the track "Grip") has not seen the light of day since. Phthalo Records will release Recovered Data 95 as part of their Phthalo Origins series, with Tejada's entry following a triple disc re-release and re-mastering of early Dntel LPs.
"While digitizing old DAT tapes recently, I rediscovered this release which still holds a special place for me," said Tejada of the release. "I've always regretted the fact that with so many releases since, this one had yet to see the light of day. The result was a very personal work I am still proud of 14 years later."
