- Daniel Lopatin returns next month with a new album on Editions Mego.
Early this summer, Editions Mego will release the next full-length by Brooklyn-based experimental artist Daniel Lopatin, AKA Oneohtrix Point Never.
The album comes less than a year after Rift, a hefty double-pack that collected Lopatin's first three full-lengths under the moniker. Entitled Returnal, the new record presents a wide scope of beatless electronic compositions, ranging from cataclysmic noise tracks like "Nil Admiradi" to drifting ambient numbers like "Ouroboros." All the songs were performed and recorded by Lopatin on a personal computer and an array of vintage hardware, consisting of an Akai AX-60, a Roland Juno-60, a Roland MSQ-700 and a Korg Electribe ES-1. Returnal will be available on CD and vinyl, with artwork by Sunn O))) guitarist Stephen O'Malley.
