The former Radio 1 DJ will play a string of shows in the US and Canada starting in mid-April.
UK radio jock Mary Anne Hobbs has plotted The Road Warrior Tour, a trek around North America beginning with a week of shows on the west coast.
Hobbs has been involved in the music industry since the '80s, and her long-time radio presence, including 14 years as host of BBC Radio 1's Experimental show, has developed a global audience. She's credited with helping shine the spotlight on her homeland's then-fledgling dubstep scene, and has been the selector for several compilations on the venerable Planet Mu label. After leaving Radio 1 last year, she has since announced a return to Xfm, the station where she began her radio career in the early '90s.
The adventure begins Wednesday, April 13th in Seattle with support from Gonjasufi, Lorn, Take and Strangeloop, all of whom will be on hand for several other stops on the tour. Hobbs will then head to California for three appearances, including a night in San Francisco featuring Kode9 and Joy Orbison and a return to the Coachella festival.
Stops in New Orleans and Miami will lead the way to the east coast, with an appearance in Boston as part of the city's Together Festival. The tour concludes in Canada with events in Toronto and Montreal.
